Keane @ River Lounge
One of the benefits of having your wife work for a radio group, is that we typically get to go to any live shows that the stations’ sponsor. Yesterday, The River had a lounge (think VH1 Unplugged) at The Duck Room @ Blueberry Hill w/ Keane.
They played three songs, interspersed with some Q/A. Afterwards, they stuck around to take pictures and sign stuff. The Blueberry Hill staff had already ushered the crowd out, so it was mostly just the band, their handlers and The River staff. So Jen and I actually got to spend about 10mins chatting with Tim (the piano player, and if I was listening correctly, the main writer of the songs). I was pretty impressed by how humble these guys seemed, even though they have clearly been getting lots of attention lately.
If you’re looking for something that is the antithesis of manufactored music, I would give these guys a spin.
