Alternative Fuels
I happen to think that one of the best things that we as a country could do is to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. There are 2 ways to accomplish this: conservation, or alternative sources of energy. Seeing as though no one feels compelled to part with their Escalade, Titan or Expedition…I think the 2nd option probably has the best chance to help us.
A promising technology is cranking out oil right here in good’ole Missouri. They basically take “agricultural waste products” (aka: turkey parts) and run it through a process that becomes oil on the other end. It’s seems like an intriguing process. Plus, it uses something called a “hydro-pulper”, which just sounds cool.
The ending of the article states:
TCP is more than 80% energy efficient. In addition, it generates its own energy to power the plant, and uses the steam naturally created by the process to heat incoming feedstock, In addition, TCP produces no emissions and no secondary hazardous waste streams.
Sounds like a step in the right direction.
