MS Free PC
This is pretty sweet…
If you bought certain Microsoft software for use in California between 1995-2001, you probably are due some money because of a recent anti-trust settlement between California and MS.
So Lindows.com setup a super-easy way to get their stuff for free if you have them do the settlement paperwork on your behalf. Check it out.
If you live on the East Coast…
hold onto your booty.
I’m on a mission…
to try to replace whatever software I can on my WindowsXP machine w/ Free Software. My main goal tonite was a good, lightweight text editor (for little programming chores). I’ve settled on Programmers Notepad, but JEdit is also a good choice.
I’m sure that for most, text editors are not that exciting….so why don’t you try MozillaFirebird for web-browsing, MozillaThunderbird for email and OpenOffice.org as a Microsoft Office replacement.
