Deep Thoughts

I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they’d never expect it.

Wooden Monkey Heads

July 15th, 2003 | No Comments | Posted in General

One of my good friends from the KA was “Bernie” (Adam Burns). He always made the coolest art. I have at least 3 of his pieces that he made during school around my house now.

But by far, the funniest thing Bernie ever made was the “Wooden Monkey Head.” Our cook at the KA house always had weird side projects that he had out in back of the house. For a while he was chopping wood. So one day, Bernie asked if he could use the chainsaw and a stump to carve something….and that’s how the wooden monkey head was born.

Not to be one to leave it at that, Bernie decided it was a good idea to attach the monkey head to his car, affectionately called The Goose. So Bernie had it attached to the goose for a couple days. But then one day Bernie rolls into the lunch room, eyes all wide, and told us the monkey head was no longer bolted to the top of the goose. We asked him, “Ah…some cop pulled you over and made you take it off, right?” Bernie just shook his head, he said the main reason was that people in oncoming traffic stared at it for so long that the starting swerving into his lane and he almost got into head-on collisions.

So ended the life of the wooden monkey head.

Copyrights and Wrongs

This is the post that has been stirring around in my head for quite a while. I didn’t want to put something up that just droned on and on, so thankfully I’ve found an article that makes the point much better than I ever could. So do yourself a favor and check out The Morning News - Copyrights and Wrongs.

If that gets you sufficiently fired up, then head over to the Eldred Act website and sign the petition.

I would post some pics, but they didn’t allow cameras at the show. They typically put some pics of each show up on the DMB website, so when they do, I might post a few here.
